Litter box furniture is bought for how it looks and returned for how it measures. Two published numbers decide it, and only one manufacturer here publishes both.
Interior is the only dimension that matters
Merry Products publishes 37.5 by 21.25 inches of exterior — 797 square inches of your room. Interior without the divider is 34.92 by 19.37 = 676 square inches.
So roughly 15 percent of the footprint is cabinet, and your box then has to fit inside the remainder with clearance to slide out. A 30 inch box in a 34.92 inch interior works. A 36 inch automatic unit does not.
The cat door is the second number
Merry publishes a 7 by 8 inch entrance. For scale, IRIS publishes 9 by 10.5 inches on its large top-entry box and SureFlap publishes 5 5/8 by 4 3/4 on a microchip cat door. A 7 by 8 inch hole is workable for an average cat and genuinely tight for a large one.
The redeeming feature is that Merry lets the entrance go on either side of the unit, which decides whether it can sit against a wall in your room rather than only in the middle of it.
Two lighter alternatives
The Modkat XL is furniture without being furniture: it is designed to be looked at, publishes both top and front entry, and weighs a fraction of a 57.4 lb cabinet. If the goal is a box that does not look like a box, this is the lower-commitment version.
A top-entry box hides the contents without hiding the box, and its grooved lid does the anti-tracking job a cabinet does not. It costs a fraction as much and can be moved with one hand.

37.5 x 21.25 = 797 square inches of floor occupied. Interior without the divider is 34.92 x 19.37 = 676, and a box has to sit inside that with clearance. You are giving up about 20 percent of the footprint to the cabinet walls in exchange for the box being invisible.

Modkat rates its reusable liner at up to three months, so four a year. A ScoopFree needs twelve disposable trays in the same period, and the Litter-Robot around 156 drawer liners. Reusable is not a green talking point here, it is the cheapest consumable model of the three.

Large: 9 x 10.5 = 94.5 square inches. IRIS's own Premium square model publishes 7.9 x 7.9 = 62.4. The large gives half again as much aperture. A cat that refuses a top-entry box has usually been offered the smaller hole.

Your cat is elderly, arthritic or recovering from surgery. A top-entry box asks for a vertical jump on the way in and a controlled drop on the way out, twice a day, forever.
