Affiliate Disclosure
This site is reader-funded through affiliate links. Here is precisely how that works, and what it does not buy.

How it works
Most product links on Perch & Purr are affiliate links. When you click one and go on to buy, the retailer pays us a small share of the sale. The price you pay is exactly the same as it would be if you had gone to the retailer directly.
Every one of those links goes through a redirect on our own domain (/go/…) before reaching the retailer. That is so a destination can be changed in one place rather than by editing dozens of articles, and so we can see which links get used. The redirect is marked noindex and is disallowed to crawlers in our robots file.
Amazon Associates
Perch & Purr is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
Our Associates tracking ID is fafperchandpurr-20. Amazon is the default retailer for the products we cover, because it is where most of this category is reliably sold at a price we can verify.
Other programs
At the time of writing we have not joined any other affiliate network. Some links on this site — for example to Whisker for the Litter-Robot, which sells primarily direct — are plain, untracked links from which we earn nothing at all. We include those products anyway when they belong in a comparison, and the buy area on those cards says plainly that the link is a reference rather than an earning link.
If that changes and we join another program, this page will be updated before any tracked link goes live.
What the money does not buy
- Placement. No brand has paid to appear on this site or to rank in a particular position, and none has been offered the opportunity.
- Positive coverage. Every roundup on this site names at least one product we would not buy, with the reason.
- Commission-led ranking. Where two products are close and one pays more, we link the one that is better for the reader. Where Amazon is cheaper than a higher-paying alternative, we link Amazon.
- Free products. We have accepted none. We do not have the products we write about, which is why how we pick is built entirely on published documentation.
About the prices you see
Where a buy button shows a price, that price came from a live check within the last 48 hours and the page states the date it was verified. Where we do not have a verified current price, the button says “check price” rather than showing a number that might be out of date.
Prices change constantly and retailers run promotions we cannot predict. Always confirm the price on the retailer’s own page before buying. We are not the seller and we have no control over pricing, availability, shipping, returns or warranty.
Editorial independence
The rules that govern what appears on this site are published in full on how we pick and our editorial policy. They exist so that you can check whether we followed them rather than having to take our word for it.
If you think a recommendation here has been influenced by commission, tell us: info@perchandpurr.com. That is a serious accusation and we would rather answer it than have it go unsaid.
