Only the first controls access. The other two make food available and let whichever cat is nearest have it.
What SureFeed publishes
Sure Petcare publishes up to 32 registered pets, a 400 ml bowl and about six months of battery life. Thirty-two identities is far beyond any ordinary household, which means the identity count is never the constraint — unlike the microchip cat doors on our doors page, where 9 against 32 is a real decision.
- It is a bowl, not a dispenser. You portion the food. The feeder controls the lid.
- Wet food works. That is the feature hopper feeders cannot match, and it is why this is the instrument for a prescription wet diet.
- Training mode exists for a reason. A lid that moves is a lid a cat distrusts. Expect to spend a week on the introduction.
The failure mode is a cat, not a chip
The reader works. What defeats it is a housemate that learns to eat from the open bowl while the registered cat is at it. Three things reduce that:
- Face the opening into a corner. Physically block the second approach angle.
- Feed the other cat at the same moment. A cat with its own full bowl has less reason to go looking.
