In a small flat the question is not which cat tree is best. It is how much vertical territory you can buy per square foot of floor you are willing to give up — and once you frame it that way, the ranking changes completely.

Access. Shelves and perches demand a jump at every level; a tree has stepped platforms a heavy or older cat can walk up. If it has to be a tree
The Yaheetech is the smallest free-standing footprint we compare at 19 inches square, and it fits a corner where nothing wider will. Two things to know before buying it, both from Yaheetech’s own published figures:
- It scores 8.7 on our stability index against 16.5 for the FEANDREA. Tall, narrow and 33 lb is the least tip-resistant combination on this page. Wall-anchor it.
- Platforms are rated to 11 lb, condos to 22 lb. Yaheetech publishing that is to its credit, and it rules the tree out for a lot of adult cats.
Do the free thing first
Clear the top of a bookshelf or a wardrobe and give the cat a route up to it — a chair, a box, a chest of drawers. That is vertical territory today, for nothing, and it answers the question that actually matters: is height what your cat was short of?
If the answer is yes, you now know it is worth buying properly. If the answer is no, you have saved the money and the floor. The Ohio State Indoor Pet Initiative frames indoor cat welfare around resources being available where the cat lives — and a cleared shelf in the living room satisfies that better than a tree in the spare room.

The Go Pet Club F2081 occupies 22 x 33 inches = 726 sq inches, just over 5 square feet. Wall shelves at the same height occupy none of it. In a one-bedroom flat that is the difference between having a cat tree and having a walkable room.

The single-level EZ Mount gives 27 inches split two ways -- 13.5 inches each, less than a cat's body length, so in practice one cat gets it. The double stack gives each cat a full 23-inch level at a different height, which is how cats share space when they have the option.
